Vision & Values

We at the Morristown Unitarian Fellowship are in the midst of a very exciting time. When this year started, we began a number of initiatives that we hoped would improve and transform our community. Some of these efforts have already borne fruit and some continue toward successful completion. Here are some highlights from the year so far:

The Strategic Planning Task Force gave an initial report of its findings and is moving toward producing the final plan.

We consolidated our mortgages and line of credit into a single mortgage at a reasonable interest rate.

We became the first UU congregation to be accepted for re-accreditation as a Green Sanctuary.

We worked with our interfaith & non-profit partners on the successful completion of the 1st program year of "Pathways to Work"

We enjoy Second Sunday Suppers (pot lucks) which provide-an opportunity for all of us to gather together in fellowship and share a meal.

We are managing to accommodate an ever expanding Life Span Religious Education program by increasing our volunteers, staff resources and building use.

We have worked on deepening our connection to our UU values through the Living in Covenant: Seven Principle Series in our lay and minister-led worship services and our covenant circles.

For the past two years, our pledge income fell short of the amount anticipated in the approved annual budget, leading to a "Closing the Gap" campaign in November 2008 and painful budget cuts in the fall of 2009. As we build a strategic plan and get ready for big things, we strive to be good stewards and apply our collective resources to sustain our community, vision, and values.

Deciding what to give can seem intimidating. We have provided tools to help you make your decision. What you pledge toward the annual budget is strictly up to you. It is how we fund our current operations and our dreams and visions. Your generosity is key to supporting our mission. Please review our FAIR SHARE GUIDE. The Fair Share Guide suggests four levels of Giving, from Supporter to Sustainer to Visionary to Full Tithe. We believe you will be able to find a level that will celebrate your personal commitment to and dreams for the Fellowship. Once you have decided we ask that you SUBMIT A PLEDGE ELECTRONICALLY or you can also EMAIL your pledge to our administrator at admin@muuf.org or mail your pledge to the fellowship at 21 Normandy Heights Road , Morristown , New Jersey 07960. In addition the pledge card offers multiple options for paying your pledge including direct debit from your checking/savings or credit card, just complete a DIRECT DEBIT PLEDGE CARD .

Pledge by April 30th and You Could Win a Fabulous Evening in New York City.
Contest winner will receive two theatre tickets to a NYC show of their choice, date to be determined, an Amex gift card for $200 for dinner, and limo service to and from NYC.
You must return your pledge card by April 30th to be eligible. The date of the drawing is Sunday May 8th.
